deacons ministry

In the fall of 2004, Sevenoaks Alliance Church initiated a deacons ministry. Currently, there are approximately eighteen volunteers involved in regular and occasional visitation.

what do deacons do?

Deacons visit shut-ins (people who are no longer able to attend Sunday services), disabled, and ill people who count Sevenoaks as their home church. The frequency and content of the visits is determined by the volunteers. Many of our shut-ins are visited at least once every week, sometimes by more than one volunteer.

Deacons are invited to a luncheon meeting twice a year. At these lunches, they are recognized, encouraged, and provided with up-dates on the needs for visitation among our church family.
