Hi all,
Wednesday, September 16th from 7:00-9:00pm in the Youth Centre. It’s for ALL middle school and high school students and it’s our chance to reconnect after the summer and play some games, enjoy some music, stuff our faces, meet the leaders and see what’s in store for the year.
In an attempt to further expand our ministry, we have decided to start a regular Tuesday night program just for grade 7 & 8 students, where they feel comfortable and safe and where they can further develop their relationship with God and where they can have fun. The response has been strongly supportive from so many of parents & volunteers and we look forward to how this will impact our middle school students in the years to come! This regular Tuesday night program officially starts on September 22nd and we will meet in room 203 from 6:30-8:00pm. Games, music, teaching an occasionally some snacks will all be part of each night.
3. High School Wednesdays
This will look fairly familiar with games, music, teaching and connecting time. Our regular Wednesday night time slot is reserved just for our students in grades 9-12 and we will continue to develop a safe environment for students to grow closer to others while growing close to God. The only change is that we will now be meeting in room 203 and this officially starts on Wednesday, September 23rd from 7:00-9:00pm.
We recently got the thumbs up to take over room 203 as our new “youth room”. We believe that this move out of the Youth Centre will help us enhance relationships by bringing students & leaders closer together is a smaller location. It also helps us have a regular place to call “home” where we don’t have to do regular set up or tear down further enabling our leaders to have more time to connect with your teens. It also helps us maintain a more secure environment each week for all the students and leaders. So, starting September 22 & 23 we will ask that you use the east parking lot and doors for entering the building. We’ll make sure there are plenty of signs to point you in the right direction!
Even with our location changes, there will still be regular opportunities for students in middle school and high school to be involved in worship & music, so if you have budding musicians they can look forward to this again!
6. Special Events
Stay tuned throughout the year for special events for students. We look to plan some events for middle school students only, some for high school students only, and some combined events. The best way to find out event details or to get the necessary waiver forms is to visit the student ministry section of our website at www.sevenoaks.org.
