We must reach beyond ourselves…
in love, in service, in compassion, showing and sharing the good news of Jesus. Jesus tells us that it is his will for us to have an external focus as a church family (Acts 1:8, John 20:21). This command flows from his love and concern for all people, everywhere.
God reached toward us in the incarnation of Jesus and, while on earth, Jesus reached towards everyone he met. God's reaching always demonstrates self-giving love and so must ours. Therefore, as a church we know we must not become isolated from the world around us. We know that love reaches, love serves, love involves sacrificial self-giving.
