 If you would like to explore
questions like these, then Alpha
is for you.
Anyone
interested in finding out more about the
Christian faith.
Learning
and laughter. It is possible to learn
about the Christian faith and to have
fun at the same time.
People
meeting together. An opportunity to get
to know others and make new friends.
Helping
one another. The small groups give you a
chance to discuss issues raised during
the talks.
Ask
anything. Alpha is a place where
no question is seen as too simple or too
hostile.
WHO
is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone! It's especially
geared to:
- People
interested in investigating
Christianity
- Newcomers
to the church
- New
Christians
- Couples
preparing for marriage
- Christians
who want to brush up on the basics.
- Adults and students in
Grade 10+ are welcome.
WHAT
happens at Alpha?
Alpha begins with an Orientation Banquet
at which will be shown the first of a
series of videos: "Christianity:
Boring, Untrue, Irrelevant."
After this, you will be given the choice
to attend an 11-week course showing a
series of video talks such as:
- Who is
Jesus?
- Why
did Jesus die?
- Why
and how do I pray?
- What
about the Holy Spirit?
- How
can I overcome evil?
- Does
God heal today?
Each
evening begins with a dinner at 6:30
p.m. Following the video, participants
will have an opportunity to take part in
a discussion with trained table leaders
about any questions or issues they have.
Each week, the dining/discussion group
remains the same, allowing time to build
familiarity and safety between people as
they share and learn together.
